Description
My husband’s grandfather, Hoyle Pounds, was the volunteer Fire Chief for 41 years in Winter Garden. I painted this from an old photo, and I did it in an old folksy style. The stucco on the building is super thick and it shows up that way in this painting! The old firehouse on South Boyd is owned by the city and now operates as “SOBO Gallery” where our local artists can display their creations.
This acrylic impasto original is painted on a 12″ x 12″ gallery-wrapped canvas that is 1.5″ thick. The scene wraps around the edges of the canvas so there is no need for a frame. It is wired and ready to hang.
